Important Notes About Applying

• This portal will be open until midnight AST (December 31th 2025) and we will reach out to people we think fit our vision in the following weeks. You can expect a response either way by Jan 31th, 2026.

• At this time we are ONLY accepting applicants who are based in/active in the Atlantic region.

• There is no application fee for hosting.

• We are happy to accept applications from various artists including burlesque, drag and comedy show hosts. Our ideal candidates will have experience hosting burlesque shows and deeply understand and love the art form/community. We strongly encourage diverse voices to submit!

• This position will be paid in the form of an honorarium of $350.

• We are unable to offer travel support at this time; however, if you are hired from an Atlantic province other than Nova Scotia, we can provide a letter of support for a travel grant.

• Important note: If you hosted at a past Atlantic Burlesque Festival you are absolutely welcome to apply. Preference will go to applicants who have not hosted recently or who have not had the opportunity to MC with us before. We aim to rotate our hosts so we can continue introducing new voices to our stage each year.

• The third annual Atlantic Burlesque Festival is set to take place on Friday and Saturday, May 29 & 30th, 2026 at the Neptune Theatre's Scotiabank Stage in Halifax, Nova Scotia. We will be hiring different hosts for each showcase.
