Important Notes About Applying

  • For consideration for the 2027 festival, submit by December 31, 2026, at 11:59 p.m. AST.

  • The form will remain open after this deadline. Later submissions will be kept on file for consideration for future festivals.

  • Submitting an expression of interest does not guarantee a booking. We select hosts based on their experience, hosting style, and the festival’s programming needs.

  • We welcome expressions of interest from hosts both within and outside Atlantic Canada.

  • There is no application fee for hosting.

  • We are happy to accept applications from various artists including burlesque, drag and comedy show hosts.

    •  Our ideal candidates will have experience hosting burlesque shows, deeply understand and love the art form/community. We strongly encourage diverse voices to submit!  

  • This position will be paid in the form of an honorarium of $350.

  • We are unable to offer travel support at this time; however, if you are hired from a province other than Nova Scotia, we can provide a letter of support for a travel grant.

  • Important note: If you hosted at a past Atlantic Burlesque Festival, or have previously submitted to host, we have your information on file and you do not need to submit again unless you want to supply updated or new materials.

    • Preference will go to applicants who have not hosted recently or who have not had the opportunity to MC with us before. We aim to rotate our hosts so we can continue introducing new voices to our stage each year.

  • The fourth annual Atlantic Burlesque Festival is set to take place on Friday and Saturday, May 28th & 29th, 2027 at the Neptune Theatre's Scotiabank Stage in Halifax, Nova Scotia. 

  • For our 4th festival we are just hiring 1 host as we have hired our Saturday host from an applicant who had to defer for a year.
