Atlantic Burlesque Cooperative

Atlantic Burlesque Cooperative acknowledges that the so-called “Atlantic Provinces” are the lands of the Mi’kmaq, Maliseet, Wəlastəkwiyik, Peskotomuhkatiyik, Inuit, Innu, Metis, and the Southern Inuit of NanatuKavut. These groups are the past, present, and future caretakers of these lands.

The Atlantic Burlesque Festival 2025 will take place in Halifax, Nova Scotia. Halifax (Kjipuktuk) is located in Mi’kma’ki, the ancestral and unceded territory of the People. This territory is covered by the “Treaties of Peace and Friendship” which the Mi’kmaq, Wəlastəkwiyik (Maliseet), and Peskotomuhkatiyik first signed with the British Crown in 1726.
